The birthplace of Charlotte Brontë, Branwell Brontë, Emily Brontë and Anne Brontë

Images of the birthplace of Charlotte Brontë, Branwell Brontë, Emily Brontë and Anne Brontë in its former glory when, in the ownership of the writer Barbara Whitehead

Inside the dining room by the fireplace is where Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell were born.

The children's bedroom is situated above the drawing room. Opposite where the picture is taken, is a passageway leading to the servants room. — bij Emilys-by-De-Luca-Boutique-The-Bront

The nursemaids room is located off a small corridor near to the children's bedroom. The staircase leads down to the kitchen and scullery. Nancy and Sarah Garrs were the children's nursemaids while at Thornton. — bij Emilys-by-De-Luca-Boutique-The-Bront

These images are of when it was a museum under the ownership of Barbara some some years ago and we hope our more current approach and theme to the birthplace is just as sympathetic and complimentary to the building and it's heritage. Look forward to seeing you all at the opening, Mark & Michelle x
