This is a blog about the Bronte Sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne. And their father Patrick, their mother Maria and their brother Branwell. About their pets, their friends, the parsonage (their house), Haworth the town in which they lived, the moors they loved so much, the Victorian era in which they lived.
Indeed. In the time of the Brontes you would need an army of footmen just to deal with that huge rug...( there being no power vacuums ). I can't see Tabby and Martha dragging it out side for a beating lol . I believe that wall paper was there for years. Today the room seems almost over filled with items to be likely...but when the rooms were done over recently , I thought there would be even more items stuffed into them ...so the room looks good to me today.
How plainly people lived back then, and how few items they had, is shocking to us today. But that's why built- in closets are so relatively new ! We also have fixed ideas how Victorians lived...but usually it's how the later Victorians decorated ...certainly from the 1860's on ward, rooms were often stuffed to the brim
