This is a blog about the Bronte Sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne. And their father Patrick, their mother Maria and their brother Branwell. About their pets, their friends, the parsonage (their house), Haworth the town in which they lived, the moors they loved so much, the Victorian era in which they lived.
So beautiful.... feels like an Emily poem......I hope to visit Haworth and the moors someday.
But there is something I´d like to bring to your attention. There is a picture (of a daguerrotype) on Flickr that reminds me so much of Anne and Charlotte.. It´s dated circa 1846 (they visited London in 1847 I think). Sadly I can´t send you a copy because it´s copyrighted (Getty Images). But here´s how to find it
Google Leigh McKinnon and choose Leigh McKinnon Flickr Select albums. Select Daguerrotypes. Scroll down the first page and go to the second page. The picture I refer to is the second from the left in the sixth row. It is called Sisters. What do you think? If these are not the Bröntes, they certainly resemble Agnes Grey and Jane Eyre.....
Love your blog, specially the Brussels section. Wonderfull illustrations of Villette....thanks.
You sent me to a world of very beautiful pictures. I never saw this before. The sisters you are telling me about indeed are interesting. I can imaging you think of Anne and Charlotte. I am going to read more about this photographer. Thank you for your reaction.
