Brontë Studies goes quarterly

In response to the mushrooming global fascination with the Brontës’ work and all aspects of their lives, we shall be publishing four issues of Brontë Studies each year, commencing in 2011. From then the pattern of publication will be January, April, September and November.Special Issue January 2011Men in the Brontës’ Lives - Influences, Publishers, Critics and CharactersGuest edited by Sue Lonoff.This issue presents the papers from the Brontë Society’s York Conference of 2009. Among the many eminent scholars whose papers are now published are Christine Alexander, Dudley Green, Sue Lonoff, Margaret Smith and Patsy Stoneman. Topics include:* A look at the relationship between Charlotte and Thackeray, and that between Charlotte and G. H. Lewes.* Emily’s poetry in the context of the male Romantic tradition* Shakespeare in Anne’s writings,* The influences of Patrick Brontë and Arthur Bell Nicholls
